De-icing the airplane. The night before we left, there was a big snow storm. I think we left the house at 7 and finally made it to the hotel around 10. Mostly, this was due to the fact that we got to Hespler before we remembered that we had to drop the key off at Oli's. Then, once we got back to Oli's, we couldn't get in right away as he wasn't there and didn't have his BlackBerry on him in order to buzz us in. The roads were treacherous and Sarah was freakin out a bit. We parked at an off-airport parking place (DirectFlight). The original plan was to park at the hotel, hoping that parking would be included in the room, but it turned out not to be (warning when using Hotwire). When we finally got to the Park and Fly (Direct Flight, actually), there was a shuttle there (running) but with no one in it. Finally another shuttle came and got us and was nice enough to drive us to the hotel instead of the airport but his driving was crazy given the weather, fishtailing and whatnot. I was entertained, but Sarah less so.
