  • Temperament Test (TT) held by Grand River Kennel Club - no commands, corrections, or talking allowed by the handler<br /> <br /> Test judges the dog's instinctual reactions and recovery time to a variety of normal and strange situations.<br /> <br /> Behaviour Towards Strangers: <br /> #1: Neutral Stranger - stranger approaches handler, shakes hands, talks causally; ignores dog<br /> #2: Friendly Stranger - stranger approaches dog, happily and friendly, and pets dog<br /> #3: Crowd - crowd moves in towards dog/handler; ignores dog<br /> <br /> Reaction Towards Auditory Stimuli:<br /> #4: Hidden Noise - hidden assistant rattles bucket with rocks and puts bucket in front of handler; dog must investigate<br /> #5: Gunshots - hidden assistant fires 3 shots<br /> <br /> Reaction Towards Visual Stimulus:<br /> #6: Umbrella - handler/dog approach stranger sitting in chair who opens umbrella; dog must investigate<br /> <br /> Tactile Stimulus:<br /> #7: Wire Footing - handler/dog walk across chain link fencing on ground<br /> <br /> Self-Protective/Aggressive Behaviour<br /> #8: Non-Threatening - weirdly dressed stranger walks around, 38' away<br /> #9: Threatening - weird stranger advances 10' in threatening manner towards handler<br /> #10: Aggression - weird stranger advances 18' more in very aggressive manner<br /> <br /> Fergus passed!!
  • Test: heeling (perfect score!!)
  • Test: sit-stay, recall from 20 feet, go in "front" position, and then "finish" (go around back into heel position)
  • Test: sit-stay, recall, "drop down" from 10 feet, front, and finish (this is just the beginnings of a drop down since Jess still holds the leash)
