Work Trip to New Jersey

I took the train to Toronto at 9:30am to catch my flight from Toronto Island at 4pm. There was time to stop at Beer Bistro for a pulled pork sandwich and a pint. The pork was tasty but a little more saucy than I tend to prefer (guess I'm more a Carolina style guy), and was only luke warm. I sent it back and they warmed it up, so it was good.

  • Urinal at Toronto Island Airport. Gross, but it looked kind of neat with the bright pink pucks.
  • At Toronto Island Airport, drinks and snacks are free - you just go get stuff out of the fridge or make a coffee with the machine. I had like 4 cappucino with extra espresso.
  • Getting ready to taxi.
  • Porter airlines is all old school style.
  • Sun was setting
  • Beer was free
  • Looking out the window
  • The first night, my room was in the middle/front of the hotel. There was a big spotlight that illuminated the window, so you could really see your reflection in it. I got the idea to try to take a photo of my reflection, while looking out the window. When bored, alone at a hotel, you often spend a bit of time looking out of the window, after all. However, the room was too close to the elevators and they made too much noise for me to sleep, so I changed rooms. This room didn't have the bright light, so the reflection wasn't as interesting, but I tried the idea anyway.
  • Some drinks from the hotel bar. The bartender was John. They didn't have any good beer; I think this was a Bass, with some Sailor Jerry rum in the tumbler.
  • The hotel room phone. Woo. Can you tell I'm bored in New Jersey? Just wait to see the rest of the hotel room pictures.
  • No messages waiting.
  • Looking out of the peep hole. I'd like to try some other styles of shots doing the same thing some time.
  • American Standard sink. I don't like the harshness of the flash. Overall a fairly crap photo, this one.
  • Meh on this one too, really. You'll notice the poppy, since it was almost Rememberance day. The Americans don't know what the poppy means; later in the week two people in Time Square asked me about it. One was a self-described 'Street Comedian' and asked whether it squirted water.
  • The hotel room sink.
  • The hotel room shaving mirror.
  • The hotel room desk chair. Was kind of a nice chair; suitable for throwing clothes on
  • This is the NJ Transit Edison station. By Tuesday I had had enough of NJ and decided to get into Manhattan. The train ride is about 1 hour, which is about as long as it had taken to get a taxi to pick me up the day before (called like 20 companies but no one would come get me where I was).
  • Sun was setting by now, but was nice and warm
